How has your identity as an artist shaped your work in Chicago?
Monty: My identity as an artist is directly connected to my work, no shaping occurs. For me, it's kind of a 1 to 1 relationship. I try to make my work sacrifice a piece of myself.
Alysia: I haven't claimed the title Artist in several years, but my theater background has shaped the way I experience the world‐ I'm more observant of my everyday experience and find connections that may or may not actually exist. I'm excited to take these observations and create work again in Chicago.
